IODC 2002

The 2002 International Optical Design Conference (IODC) was held June 3-7, 2002 in Tucson, Arizona. It was co-sponsored by OSA and SPIE. The IODC conference chairs were Paul Manhart & Jose Sasian.

The IODC traditionally includes one or more lens design problems for members of the optical design community to consider. This time, the design problem consisted of designing a 100 mm focal length, f/8 systems using only refractive spherical lens simulating the chromatic behavior of a diffractive optical element. The results, along with the contents of the meeting, were published will be published in SPIE Proceedings Volume 4832.
